How to Take Care of Your Lashes

Taking care of your lashes after getting a lift or tint is essential to maintain the results and keep your lashes healthy. Here are some tips on how to care for your lashes:

  • Avoid getting them wet: For the first 24 to 48 hours after getting a lash lift or tint, avoid getting your lashes wet. This means no showering, swimming, or any activity that could cause water to come into contact with your lashes.

  • Be gentle: Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on your lashes, as this can damage them or cause them to lose their lift or tint prematurely.

  • Use oil-free products: Oil-based makeup removers and cleansers can break down the tint and affect the lift, so opt for oil-free products to remove eye makeup or cleanse your face.

  • Avoid heat: Excessive heat can weaken the lash lift, so stay away from saunas, hot tubs, or steamy showers for the first 48 hours after the treatment.

  • Skip mascara: For the first 48 hours, it's best to avoid using mascara, as it can affect the lift and tint. After this period, if you choose to use mascara, use a water-based, gentle mascara that won't weigh down your lashes or cause clumping.

  • Be mindful of your lash curler: Avoid using an eyelash curler, especially if you've had a lash lift, as it can damage the lashes or interfere with the lift's shape.

  • Brush your lashes: Gently comb your lashes daily with a clean spoolie brush to keep them well-groomed and separate any clumps. This can also help maintain the lift's shape.

  • Moisturize: To keep your lashes healthy, you can apply a lash serum or nourishing oil to the tips of your lashes. This can help prevent them from becoming dry or brittle.

  • Avoid sleeping face-down: Sleeping with your face pressed against a pillow can cause your lashes to become misshapen. Try to sleep on your back or with a silk or satin pillowcase that reduces friction.

  • Maintain regular appointments: Lash lifts and tints are not permanent, so you'll need touch-up appointments every 6-8 weeks to maintain the results. Follow your technician's recommendations for touch-up timing.
